FAQ

❓ What experience do I need for multi-pitch climbing?

Multi-pitch climbing is best suited for climbers who are comfortable leading single-pitch sport or trad routes. You should be confident with basic climbing techniques, building anchors, and rappelling. If you're not sure if you're ready, contact us and we'll help assess your readiness.

❓ How long does a multi-pitch climbing trip take?

Multi-pitch trips are full-day adventures, typically 6–8 hours from meeting time to return. The length depends on your fitness, skill level, and the route chosen. We meet at Lander City Park and carpool to the crag.

❓ Where do you do multi-pitch climbing in the Wind River area?

We climb on the spectacular granite domes and walls near Lander, Wyoming, including Lankin Dome and other multi-pitch objectives in the Wind River Range. These routes offer incredible scenery and a wide range of difficulty levels.

❓ What equipment do I need to bring for multi-pitch climbing?

All climbing equipment — including harness, helmet, shoes, rope, cams, nuts, and anchor materials — is provided by your guide. Bring water, snacks, sunscreen, layers, and comfortable athletic clothing. Closed-toe shoes for the approach are recommended.

❓ Why is multi-pitch climbing limited to 2 people?

Multi-pitch climbing involves complex logistics including rope management, communication across multiple pitches, and anchor building. A 2:1 ratio ensures your guide can provide personalized instruction and maintain the highest safety standards throughout the day.

❓ What is your cancellation policy?

We require 48 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. Please contact us at info@windriverclimbing.com or 307-335-3439. Cancellations with less than 48 hours notice may be subject to a fee.
